Popular Communications
First issue of the publication, September 1982.
Popular Communications magazine, radio hobby, including scanners, shortwave radio, CB, amateur radio, AM and FM broadcast band listening, radio history, and vintage radio restoration.
The magazine existed between 1982 and 2013.

Grounding
The grounding in the antennas, radio station, is a highly debated topic in the world of amateur radio, there are examples for all kinds of situations, but many times those that are valid for a place or installation, are not, for other.
Having a radio installation in a rural setting is not the same as having it installed in an apartment building in a large city.
Grounding is an element to take into account for our safety and each radio amateur is responsible and must evaluate their situation to assess which is their best option for the safety and proper functioning of the installation.

GUM FM no le renuevan las frecuencias de emisión
La emisora de radio Gum FM, que emite para todo el Pirineo y la Val d'Aran, perdió por pocos votos las siete frecuencias que obtuvo en 2003.
Gum FM sólo podrá emitir por dos frecuencias concedidas en 1999, en una zona cuyo accidentado relieve obliga a disponer de varios repetidores.
Gum FM emite una radiofórmula musical e informativa en catalán y aranés para todo el Pirineo y la Val d'Aran.
En 1999 obtuvo dos frecuencias, pero, dada la orografía de esa zona, en el Plan Piloto de 2003 consiguió otras seis para poder alcanzar toda su área de influencia. Ahora ha perdido esas seis, lo que preocupa a las autoridades aranesas.
El propio síndico, Francesc Boya, así se lo ha transmitido al presidente del CAC, Josep Maria Carbonell, pues Gum FM era la emisora más escuchada y con una fuerte implantación. "Queremos que esta emisora continúe emitiendo.
Plantearemos un acuerdo con las radios locales de la Val d'Aran, la única opción que nos queda", comentó Boya. En la adjudicación, Gum FM se quedó a tan sólo una decena de puntos de conseguir las licencias.

Gum FM problemas de emisión
Poco menos que lamentable, que una emisora como Gum FM que presta un servicio de información del pirineo y concretamente en el Valle de Aran, no le renueven las frecuencias y nos quedemos sin una de las emisoras de radio con mas audiencia del Valle de Aran.
